[Teiichi OKETANI]
A Japanese pottery.
Teiichi Oketani II was born in Kyoto in 1935, as a son of Teiichi I. In 1955, he graduated of the Pottery Course at Kyoto Municipal Fushimi Technical Senior High School, and refined his skills under his father.
He got several praises at the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition and other exhibisions. Regular member of Nihon Kogeikai (the Japan Art Crafts Association) and Kyoto Art Crafts Creators Union.
[ Yuteki ]
Yuteki is one of decorative techniques for ceramics, that shows silver or whitish gold specks on surface. The specks look like oil droplets, which are known as yuteki in Japanese (hence the name). The specks look like oil droplets, which are known as yuteki in Japanese (hence the name).
