[Haebaru Hana-ori]
Haebaru Hana-ori is a textile with floating designs produced in Haebaru-cho, Okinawa prefecture. It has three-dimensional designs line a embroidery woven with 8-10 heddles.
In haebaru, mothers handed down the methods of habna-ori to their daughters in the Meiji period (1868-1912). After the WW II, the survivors kept producing the traditional hana-ori and the latter generations succeeds it today.
