[Tohou Tezuka]
The name “Toho Tezuka” is the kiln in Kyoto supervised by Sekiun Tezuka, a Kyoware potter.
Sekiun Tezuka (1942-) is a Kyo ware potter in Kyoto who was the 5th son of a famous potter, Gyokudo Tezuka. He refined his skills under his father and then established Kanshuji kiln in Yamashina, Kyoto in 1971.
In 2002, Sekiun received a kiln name “Kacho” and a potter name “Sekiun” from Zen master Myoho Takada of Daitoku-ji Temple in Kyoto and established Kacho kiln in Saga in the following 2003.
