[Ro]
Ro is one type of gauze fabric made from silk used for Summer kimono that has a feel of transparency. It has a woven stripes pattern, and stripes patterned Ro is called Take-ro and horizontal stripes patterned Ro is called Yoko-ro.
Ro is suitable for a formal occasion so used for Tomesode, Homogi, and Komon as well as Juban for Summer, Summer mourning kimono, obi age and obi belt.
[ Karieba ]
Kimono labeled as "karinui" or "karieba" are unfinished. In Japanese, kari means temporary, and nui means sewing. These items are only tacked/stitched together temporarily, just to show what the finished garment will look like. As such, karinui and karieba items will need tailoring/sewing if you would like to wear them (we generally recommend them for display).
