[Kouho KUMAGAE] (1949-)
A Japanese potter in Wakamiya city, Fukuoka prefecture.
Kouho was born as the second son of Kouho KUmgae, a Kiku ware potter in Fukuoka prefecture. After his graduation from Economy course of Kyushu International University, he refined his skills under his father.
He established his own kiln in Wakamiya city in 1984 and has been creating ceramics for daily use and tea utensils.
Won 24 times prizes in the Seibu Craft Exhibition, 21 times prizes in the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition and 9times prizes in the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition.
