[Kosobe Ware]
A style of Japanese pottery produced in Kosobe of Settsu Province (present Takatsuki city, Osaka). One of the best 7 kilns selected by Enshu Kohori.
The first Kosobe ware kiln was seemed to be established in the end of 18th century and it was once abandoned in the middle of Edo-period. However Shinpei Igarashi I revived the kiln around 1970, his successors kept the kiln for 120 years. Unfortunately, Kosobe ware kiln was abandoned again in the end of the Meiji period.
