[Koun MIYAGAWA]
A potter in Kyoto.
-First Generation : Koun MYAGAWA
The son of the 3rd generation Kosai MIYAGAWA. He became independent from the Kosai MIYAGAWA family and established Ryukoku kiln.
-Second Generation: Koun MIYAGAWA (1938-)
Born in Kyoto. The nephew of the 4th generation Kosai MIYAGAWA (The 1st generation Kosai MAKUZU).
After graduated from the Art course of Hitachigaoka Highschool, he studied at Kyoto Crafts Training Center and refined his skills under his father and the 6th generation Rokube SHOMIZU.
He succeeded his father’s name in 1980. His works are gorgeous and he is good at making Ninsha-utsushi/ Kanzan-utsushi/ Kinrande (gold-painted porcelain) .
