An engraver in Higashiyama, Kyoto. A member of the Japan Academy of Art.
After he refined his skills of sculpture under Kazumasa NUMATA (an engraver in Meiji/Showa period) and Komu MIYANO, he studied customs in ancient Japan and Kanze school of Noh under Tsutomu EMA, a researcher of study of folklore history.
