A Japanese potter who was a regular member of the Japan Art Academy.
1927 Born in Ohita prefecture
1951 Joined the Kyoto Potter’s Club and refined his skills under Rokube Shimizu VI
1951 Won his first prize at the Nitten Exhibition
1952 Became a successor of Einosuke Kawai
1962 The Hokuto Prize at the Nitten Exhibition for “Ao”
1968 The Kikka Award at the Nitten Exhibition “Utage”
1970 Became a judge of the Nitten Exhibition
1975 Received the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon
1983 The Prime Minister Prize at the Japan New Crafts Art Exhibition for “Sato no Michi (road of the country)”
1989 The Prime Minister Prize at the Nitten Exhibition for “Gyo’un"
1991 The Prime Minister Prize at the Japan New Crafts Art Exhibition for “Kusabae”
1998 Received the Japan Art Academy Award
2011 Died of pneumonia at the age of 82
